Early
Years
The Rangers (Paragon
Cricket Club) has been a successful cricket club since joining the
Wodonga and District Cricket Association 25 years ago.
The origins of the club
stem from a group of Moore Paragon employees who formed a company
cricket team and joined the local competition.
The Club since those early
days of training in the Company's warehouse have expanded to calling
Wodonga High School Sports ground HOME.
With 20 Senior Premiership
titles and one junior Premiership the club has a great record in the
WDCA..
The Club's logo of The
Rangers has changed over recent years to The Birallee Rangers thanks to
continued support from the Birallee Tavern.
Sponsorship
There are several sponsors
for the Paragon C.C, they are the Birallee Tavern, Ray White Real estate
and Subway (Wodonga).
Season Opening
The season commences early
October and runs until the end of March. Baranduda residents can now see
members of Paragon Cricket Club display their skills with bat and ball.
An invitation is extended to the community of Baranduda to support The
Rangers or better still become a Ranger
Council Support
Wodonga City Council has
installed a concrete cricket wicket with a synthetic cover at the
Baranduda Sports Ground. This will enable the Wodonga and District
Cricket Association to hold A and B Grades games at this venue with
Paragon Cricket Club designated as the home club.
Paragon continues to
search for a place to call HOME. This club does not wish to force itself
upon the residents of Baranduda, however it believes that the future of
the club and the youth of Baranduda can work as one in achieving
sporting and community goals.
